3/4" Poly Stock Tank Plug
Replace the complete drain assembly with this two-piece polyethylene plug-and-flange unit. It has a nominal 3/4-inch opening and includes the rubber seal required to form a watertight connection through the tank wall.
The model 2152 is standard equipment on the Hastings 11-foot stock tank. It may also fit another tank with a compatible mounting hole and a flat sealing surface on both sides. Confirm the opening and installation requirements before ordering.
Complete Poly Plug-and-Flange Unit for 11-Foot Hastings Stock Tanks
The 2152 is the standard drain plug-and-flange assembly supplied with the Hastings 11-foot stock tank. Use it to replace a missing, worn, cracked, or damaged original assembly.
Unlike a replacement plug alone, the 2152 is a complete two-piece unit that passes through the tank wall. It includes the polyethylene plug-and-flange components and the rubber seal required to create a watertight connection.

Standard Assembly for the Hastings 11-Foot Tank
The 11-foot Hastings stock tank uses a different drain arrangement from the standard plug fitted to most smaller Hastings tanks.
Model 2152 should not be confused with:
- Model 2131: The standard 3/4-inch zinc-plated replacement plug used in Hastings stock tanks other than the 11-foot model
- Model S-200: A steel plug-and-flange alternative for the 11-foot Hastings tank
Confirm that you have an 11-foot Hastings stock tank or another tank with a compatible mounting hole and suitable sealing surfaces before ordering.
When to Replace the Complete Assembly
Consider replacing the plug-and-flange unit when:
- The original assembly is missing
- The polyethylene plug or flange is cracked or damaged
- The flange no longer sits securely against the tank
- The rubber seal has deteriorated
- The threads are worn or damaged
- The drain connection leaks despite being correctly installed
- The complete original drain assembly needs replacement
If only the removable plug is damaged, inspect the remaining flange and seal before deciding whether the entire assembly must be replaced.
What Is Included
This product includes:
- The two-piece polyethylene plug-and-flange unit
- The required rubber seal
Removal and Installation Overview
A slotted screwdriver or a 5/8" wrench can be used to unscrew the plug. The threaded half of the plug is designed to be on the inside of the tank and can be held with a 1 1/2" socket, wrench, adjustable or large pliers.
Before installation:
- Remove the existing plug-and-flange assembly.
- Drain and safely clean the tank.
- Inspect the tank opening and surrounding wall for cracks, distortion, corrosion, or other damage.
- Clean the contact surfaces and remove dirt, mineral deposits, old sealing material, and debris.
- Confirm that the new components and rubber seal are clean and undamaged.
- Position the seal and plug-and-flange components correctly through the tank opening.
- Tighten the assembly evenly until it is secure and the rubber seal is properly seated.
- Add a small amount of water and inspect the connection before completely refilling the tank.
Do not cross-thread or overtighten the components. Excessive force can damage the polyethylene assembly, deform the seal, or place unnecessary stress on the tank wall.
Creating a Watertight Connection
The included rubber seal must sit evenly against a clean, undamaged surface. A twisted, displaced, dirty, or deteriorated seal may allow water to escape.
A replacement assembly may not correct leakage caused by:
- Cracks or damage around the tank opening
- A distorted tank wall
- Incorrect installation
- Misaligned components
- Contaminated sealing surfaces
- An overtightened or damaged assembly
Correct the underlying problem before returning the tank to regular service.
Poly or Steel Replacement
The 2152 is the standard polyethylene assembly for the Hastings 11-foot stock tank. Stock Tanks Canada also offers the upgraded steel S-200 plug-and-flange unit as an alternative for the same tank.
Choose Model 2152 when replacing the original polyethylene assembly with the standard Hastings configuration. The S-200 should be considered separately when a steel replacement assembly is preferred.
Confirm Compatibility Before Ordering
Before purchasing, confirm:
- You require a complete two-piece plug-and-flange assembly.
- The tank is an 11-foot Hastings model or has a compatible mounting hole.
- The tank wall is flat on both sides around the opening.
- There is sufficient access to hold and tighten both sections.
- The opening and surrounding tank wall are undamaged.
If you are uncertain, contact Stock Tanks Canada with the tank’s manufacturer, model, diameter, material, and clear photographs of the existing drain opening and components.
