Ground Your Stock Tank for De-Icer Use
This grounding kit provides the components needed to ground a metal stock tank when using an electric stock tank de-icer. Proper grounding helps provide a path to earth for stray electrical current and is an important part of a safe de-icer installation.

Installation and Electrical Safety
Install the grounding rod near the stock tank and connect the tank securely to the rod using the supplied clamp and grounding wire. Always follow the instructions supplied with the de-icer and grounding kit.
An electric stock tank de-icer must be connected to a properly grounded, outdoor-rated receptacle protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). This grounding kit is an additional safety measure and does not replace GFCI protection or proper electrical installation.
Consult a qualified electrician if you are uncertain about the correct installation or grounding requirements for your location. Inspect the de-icer, power cord and grounding connection regularly and discontinue use if any component is damaged.
